Photographers and designers often end up with images buried inside multiple levels of subfolders, organised by shoot, day, card, or camera body. Adobe\u00ae Bridge\u00ae has no built-in way to collapse that structure into a single folder for culling or delivery.<\/p>\n
FolderFlattener adds two commands to Adobe Bridge that solve this in seconds:<\/p>\n
Both commands are available in the Tools<\/strong> menu and in the right-click context menu<\/strong> when you click a folder icon.<\/p>\n 1-minute YouTube demo: \u2b07 Download FolderFlattener 1.0.1 (ZIP)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n The ZIP contains:<\/p>\n Copy Replace If the macOS:<\/strong><\/p>\n Windows:<\/strong><\/p>\n Open Adobe Bridge and go to Preferences \u2192 Startup Scripts<\/strong>. Find FolderFlattener<\/strong> in the list and make sure it is checked.<\/p>\n If Adobe Bridge shows a prompt asking whether to enable the newly found script when it restarts, click Yes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Quit Adobe Bridge completely and relaunch it.<\/p>\n The Flatten Subfolders\u2026<\/strong> and Unflatten (Restore)\u2026<\/strong> commands will now appear in Tools<\/strong> and in the folder right-click menu.<\/p>\n The script will:<\/p>\n The script reads The Flatten and Unflatten commands do not appear in the menus.<\/strong><\/p>\n Unflatten says it cannot find the restore file.<\/strong><\/p>\n Flatten stops partway through and reports an error.<\/strong><\/p>\n Version 1.0.1 – March 6, 2026.<\/p>\n Handle .DS_Store files on Mac. _flatten_undo.json<\/code>.<\/li>\n_flatten_undo.json<\/code> is missing it has been moved or deleted, and Restore cannot proceed. The files remain in the flattened state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
