It will copy the coordinates of the page item, ready to be pasted back in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can then select another page item, and paste the coordinates &#8216;into&#8217; that page item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This script uses the current reference point settings. This is managed via the little &#8216;square&#8217; with 9 dots which will be visible most of the time in the upper-left-hand-corner of the InDesign window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rorohiko.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Screen-Shot-2019-06-22-at-5.16.29-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5818\" width=\"298\" height=\"181\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By selecting one of these 9 dots, you can determine what coordinate will be copied or pasted: top-left, top-middle, top-right,  middle-left, center, middle-right, etc\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <code>PasteCoordinates.jsx<\/code> script can paste these coordinates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In-between copying and pasting, you may change the selected reference point by selecting another one of the 9 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doing so makes it is possible to copy one corner from a page item, then paste it into another corner of the same, or another page item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <code>PasteSameReferencePointCoordinates.jsx<\/code> script is similar, but it will ignore the current reference point settings when pasting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">E.g. if you copy the top-left corner, this variant of the <code>Paste\u2026.jsx<\/code> script will paste back in the top-left corner, even if a different reference point is currently selected amongst the 9 reference points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To make this set of scripts efficient to use, it is highly recommended that you set up some keyboard shortcuts from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use the <em>Edit &#8211; Keyboard Shortcuts\u2026<\/em> menu item<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can leave the <em>[Default]<\/em> set selected, or you can create a new one. If you leave <em>[Default]<\/em> selected, InDesign will automatically create a new set for you when it needs to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select the product area <em>Scripts<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Find the <code>CopyCoordinates.jsx<\/code> script, and assign a shortcut key (I use <em>Ctrl-Shift-C<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Find the <code>PasteCoordinates.jsx<\/code> script, and assign a shortcut key (I use <em>Ctrl-Shift-V<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Find the <code>PasteSameReferencePointCoordinates.jsx<\/code> script, and assign a shortcut key (I use <em>Ctrl-Alt-Shift-V<\/em> or <em>Crtl-Opt-Shift-V<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Close the dialogs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, copying and pasting coordinates becomes very easy<br> and quick to do by means of the keyboard shortcuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installing the scripts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start <em>Adobe\u00ae InDesign\u00ae<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make the <em>Scripts Panel<\/em> show up (use the <em>Window &#8211; Utilities &#8211; Scripts<\/em> menu).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Right-click or Option-Click the line that says <em>User<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select <em>Reveal in Finder<\/em> or <em>Reveal in Explorer<\/em> from the contextual menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A folder\/directory window <em>Scripts<\/em> should show up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rorohiko.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Screen-Shot-2019-06-22-at-5.19.16-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5819\" width=\"403\" height=\"179\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Double-click the subfolder <em>Scripts Panel<\/em> so it opens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drag the three script file icons<br><code>     CopyCoordinates.jsx<br>     PasteCoordinates.jsx<br>     PasteSameReferencePointCoordinates.jsx<br><\/code>into this <em>Scripts Panel<\/em> folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make sure to drag into <em>Scripts Panel<\/em> and not into <em>Scripts<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rorohiko.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Screen-Shot-2019-06-22-at-5.20.36-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5820\" width=\"387\" height=\"138\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Switch back to InDesign.
