Double-clicking Soxy<\/em>‘s icon brings up the Soxy<\/em> configuration screen.<\/p>\n

When you’re running a demo version of\u00a0Soxy<\/em>, you’ll first be presented with a ‘beg-dialog’ where you can click\u00a0Get License…<\/em> to initiate the procedure of purchasing a\u00a0Soxy<\/em> license. For now, click\u00a0OK<\/em> to get past the beg-dialog.<\/p>\n

The Soxy<\/em> configuration screen should appear. Later on,\u00a0Soxy<\/em> can be run as a normal application –\u00a0double-clicking the\u00a0Soxy.exe<\/em> shortcut will always bring you to the\u00a0Soxy<\/em> configuration screen.<\/p>\n

Click the little ‘plus sign’ in front of a version-dependent file format to get more information.<\/p>\n

Pay attention to the fact Soxy<\/em> will not handle <\/strong>documents if the corresponding checkbox in the\u00a0Open with Soxy<\/em> column <\/em>is not ticked. If Soxy<\/em> does not seem to work, the first thing to do is to double-click the Soxy<\/em> icon and check whether it is configured correctly – if Open with Soxy<\/em> is not ticked, Soxy<\/em> won’t interfere with that document type, and hence might seem to be inoperative.<\/p>\n

To change any of these, simply select the line by clicking it.\u00a0Soxy <\/em>will show some of your installed applications – those that it thinks can open that particular document type. You choose amongst them by ticking the checkbox in front of the application you want\u00a0Soxy<\/em> to use.<\/p>\n

When\u00a0Soxy<\/em> is launched for the very first time, it will automatically scan your hard drive and try to find all interesting applications. That process takes a little while, and is fairly thorough, but it might still miss some applications.\u00a0Also, you might install a new version of some supported application, some time after you already have installed\u00a0Soxy<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In those cases, where you don’t see an application listed in the main\u00a0Soxy<\/em> screen shown earlier, you will need click the\u00a0Find Executables<\/em> button in order to make\u00a0Soxy<\/em> re-scan your drive and add the missing application to the list of applications available.<\/p>\n

If desired, you can also remove some of the applications listed in case they are irrelevant to your particular workflow.<\/p>\n

To do that, go to the\u00a0Edit – Preferences…<\/em> menu to see the current list of executables:<\/p>\n

This shows a list of applications that\u00a0Soxy<\/em> knows about.<\/p>\n

You can remove some of these by selecting the entry, and clicking the red ‘-‘ button. You can add additional applications by clicking the green ‘+’ button.<\/p>\n

Under the File Formats<\/em> tab you can see all File Formats<\/em> that Soxy supports. Unchecking an\u00a0Enable<\/em> checkbox allows you to completely remove a particular file format from the main Soxy<\/em> configuration screen.<\/p>\n

If the main configuration screen is not showing a particular file format, please check the Enable<\/em> settings on the File Formats<\/em> tab under Edit – Preferences<\/em><\/p>\n

Afterwards, using Soxy is easy: if you have ticked the checkbox in the Soxy window it handles the document type at hand, all you need to do is double-click the document.<\/p>\n
