Please take the time to read this&nbsp;<em>before<\/em> purchasing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"heading\">Installation<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">Before you start installing, exit out of InDesign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">Please make sure you have a copy of the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rorohiko.com\/apidtoolassistant.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">APID ToolAssistant<\/a><\/em> plug-in installed. Make sure you install the proper plug-in for your version of InDesign since the plug-ins are mutually incompatible. \u00a0The APID ToolAssistant plug-in might be composed of multiple files and\/or folders, depending on the version of InDesign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">If you already have an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rorohiko.com\/apidtoolassistant.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>APID ToolAssistant<\/em><\/a> plug-in installed (e.g. because you use one of our other plug-ins), make sure it is up-to-date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">You will be installing two separate, but related software products: <em>SudokuGenerator<\/em> and <em>APID ToolAssistant<\/em>. For continued use you only need to purchase a license for <em>SudokuGenerator<\/em>. It will continue to work even when the <em>APID ToolAssistant<\/em> demo expires.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\"><strong>i.e you do NOT need to purchase an additional license for <em>APID ToolAssistant<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">Copy the <em>SudokuGenerator.spln<\/em> into the same folder as the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rorohiko.com\/apidtoolassistant.html\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">APID ToolAssistant<\/a><\/em> plug-in (typically that will be the InDesign <em>Plug-Ins<\/em> folder). Don&#8217;t worry about the icon of the .spln file: it might not be a &#8216;regular&#8217; icon, and that&#8217;s OK.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"heading\">Usage<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">The <em>SudokuGenerator<\/em> will only work after you open a properly prepared template file. Inside the template file you can put one or more placeholders for puzzles and puzzle solutions &#8211; the generator will automatically replace these with real puzzles and the corresponding solutions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">A few example templates are provided in the\u00a0<em>Example Booklet Files<\/em> folder. Don&#8217;t try to use the CS to CS4 templates with CS5 or above &#8211; it won&#8217;t work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">Open <em>sudokuAutoBookletExample.indd<\/em> in the &#8216;Example Booklet Files&#8217; folder. Select the &#8216;API &#8211; Generate Sudoku&#8230;&#8217; menu item. A dialog should come up. If you click\u00a0<em>OK<\/em>, it will go ahead and replace all placeholders with freshly generated puzzles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\">You can adjust the templates to your liking.
