From Creative Cloud 2024 onwards, all activations of our plugins and tools are handled by way of PluginInstaller<\/em>:<\/p>\n https:\/\/PluginInstaller.com<\/a><\/p>\n Creative Cloud 2024 is the ‘switchover point’. Users of InDesign 2024 can use use either the old activation system or the new activation system, but not both.<\/p>\n From Creative Cloud 2025 onwards, only activations by way of PluginInstaller<\/em> will be supported.<\/p>\n Existing Personal<\/em> or Workgroup Activation Codes<\/em> for APID ToolAssistant<\/em> or Sudoku Generator<\/em> can be converted to the new system. More info can be found on the individual product pages.<\/p>\n Install PluginInstaller<\/em> as instructed on the web page:<\/p>\n https:\/\/PluginInstaller.com<\/a><\/p>\n If you have not done so yet, you need to create an account in PluginInstaller<\/em>, and make sure to register it by clicking the\u00a0Register<\/em> button and clicking the confirmation link in the confirmation email.<\/p>\n You can add bookmarks for individual products to\u00a0PluginInstaller<\/em> either by clicking a link on the individual product pages, or by browsing the Rorohiko Catalog via the\u00a0PluginInstaller\u00a0<\/em>Store window.<\/p>\n Once you have a bookmark for a product in PluginInstaller you can purchase licenses by way of the\u00a0Installing and Ordering<\/em> window.<\/p>\n Our licensing approach is different. Please take a few minutes to read the information below.<\/p>\n When installing an updated version of one of our tools, you will need to use your activation code to re-activate the updated version. Do not attempt to import any activation files or license files you might have. Instead, click ‘Activate…’ and enter your activation code. You can use your activation code as often as needed, but you cannot activate more than a few systems in quick succession. A time delay is enforced after multiple consecutive activations on different systems.<\/p>\n One Time<\/em> Activation Codes are an exception: they are low-cost codes that only allow for one single activation request. Once you’ve activated a system you cannot use that same code ever again. You cannot re-use or transport such activation.<\/p>\n If the software is not activated on a particular configuration, it will work for a limited amount of time, after which it stops functioning.<\/p>\n Activations cannot be transported, revoked or disabled. Once a configuration is activated, it is activated forever.\u00a0There is no ‘deactivate’ function.<\/p>\n You cannot re-use an activation file to activate more than one configuration. Each configuration needs to be activated independently.<\/p>\n It is important to understand the difference between an\u00a0activation code\u00a0<\/em>and an\u00a0activation.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n An\u00a0activation code<\/em>\u00a0is what you purchase from us. An\u00a0activation<\/em>\u00a0is what you use that code for.<\/p>\n An activation code<\/em> allows you to activate<\/em> a computer configuration. Most of the time, a\u00a0single<\/em>\u00a0activation code will allow\u00a0multiple<\/em>\u00a0activations.<\/p>\n There is more info on the different kinds of activation codes<\/em> further down.<\/p>\n To use our software, your computer configuration<\/em> needs to be activated.<\/p>\n For applications like Soxy<\/em> or StoryTweaker<\/em>, a\u00a0computer configuration\u00a0<\/em>is a physical computer.<\/p>\n For InDesign plug-ins or extensions like TextExporter<\/em> or Tada QR!<\/em>, a computer configuration<\/i> is the combination of the physical computer and the copy of InDesign.<\/p>\n A single computer with two versions of InDesign installed counts as two configurations.<\/p>\n Example 1: you have a laptop and a desktop computer, and you want to install Soxy\u00a0<\/em>on both. You’ll need to activate twice.<\/p>\n Example 2: you have a single computer with both InDesign CS5<\/em> and InDesign\u00a0CS6<\/em> installed. You want to activate\u00a0TextExporter<\/em> in both copies of InDesign. You’ll need to activate twice.<\/p>\n Example 3: you have a Mac with BootCamp or a separate virtual machine with Windows. You run two copies of Windows, or you run both Mac OS X and Windows. You need separate activations for each.<\/p>\n Example 4: you have some virtual machines and you want to use Soxy<\/em> in each of them. Each virtual machine needs a separate activation.<\/p>\n For most of our plug-ins it needs to be installed<\/strong>, but it does not<\/strong> need to be activated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n APID ToolAssistant<\/em>\u00a0is a specialist software product in its own right. It is meant to be used by software developers. It has a demo-timeout in order to allow software developers to try it out. That demo-functionality is of no relevance to regular users. Even after the APID ToolAssistant<\/em> demo time lapses, our other plug-ins won’t stop functioning. All that gets disabled is the special software developer functionality.<\/p>\n Don’t activate\u00a0APID ToolAssistant<\/em>\u00a0unless you know what you’re doing.<\/p>\n If you want to activate a plug-in like\u00a0TextExporter<\/em>, please pay attention to the information shown on your screen as you go through the purchase process.<\/p>\n If it says “APID ToolAssistant”<\/em>\u00a0you’re activating the wrong thing. The most probable cause is forgetting to select\u00a0TextExporter<\/em>\u00a0in the APID ToolAssistant<\/em> dialog.<\/p>\n In normal circumstances, you can activate our tools over the internet.<\/p>\n For plug-ins, make sure you have APID ToolAssistant 1.0.54<\/em> or higher installed. Older versions lack the ‘over the internet’ activation function.<\/p>\n As a fall-back we also e-mail out ‘activation files’. These files are merely an alternate way of providing you with an activation. You will only need the activation file in rare circumstances.<\/p>\n You can safely delete activation files if you want. We keep backup copies for you.\u00a0You can always log in and re-download them from our commerce server at https:\/\/sales.rorohiko.com<\/a><\/p>\n Activation files are uniquely tied to one particular computer configuration.<\/p>\n We recommend that you enter a sensible description in the ‘Configuration Description’ field during the activation process. That will help you to tell the activation files apart.<\/p>\n The most common activation code is called the Personal Activation Code<\/em>.<\/p>\n With a Personal Activation Code<\/em>, you can use the same code multiple times and activate all configurations that you use.\u00a0It should not be shared between multiple users.<\/p>\n Each configuration will get its own unique activation (and activation file).<\/p>\n Don’t try to re-use the activation files<\/em> to activate a second configuration. That does not work.<\/p>\n A\u00a0Personal Activation Code<\/em>\u00a0will initially allow 3 consecutive activations.<\/p>\n The total allowed number of activations is not limited, but we want to avoid abuse of the Personal Activation Code<\/em>.<\/p>\n If you need to activate more than 3 times within a short timespan, you need to let us know at support@rorohiko.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Send us an e-mail with your activation code. Let us know how many activations you need, and we’ll increase the allowance on your activation code as needed.<\/p>\n You can also purchase a One Time Activation Code<\/em>.<\/p>\n These codes are markedly cheaper than Personal Activation Codes<\/em>.<\/p>\n The main drawback is that they only allow a single<\/em> activation. You can activate just one configuration, one time only.<\/p>\n Once issued, these activations cannot be transported or revoked, for whatever reason.<\/p>\n If your computer breaks down and needs to be replaced, your One Time Activation Code<\/em> won’t transport to the new computer.<\/p>\n If you upgrade InDesign, a One Time Activation Code <\/em>for a plug-in or extension\u00a0won’t work with the new version of InDesign.<\/p>\n You should only purchase a\u00a0One Time Activation Code<\/em> if you need to use one of our tools for a limited time. You must understand that if you change computers (for whatever reason), you cannot retain the activation.<\/p>\n For small workgroups up to 10 people we have the\u00a0Workgroup Activation Code<\/em>.<\/p>\n If your workgroup is larger, you will need to purchase multiple Workgroup Activation Codes<\/em> and\/or some Personal Activation Codes<\/em>.<\/p>\n A\u00a0Workgroup<\/em>\u00a0Activation Code<\/em>\u00a0will initially allow 30 consecutive activations.<\/p>\n The total allowed number of activations is not limited, but we want to avoid abuse of the\u00a0Workgroup<\/em>\u00a0Activation Code<\/em>.<\/p>\n If you need to activate more than 30 times within a short timespan, you need to let us know at\u00a0support@rorohiko.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Send us an e-mail with your activation code.
