Scripted Plug-Ins

We have developed a system that allows us to create InDesign Plug-Ins using ExtendScript(JavaScript). The advantage of this approach is that these plug-ins are cross-platform compatible (the same plug-in file runs on Macintosh as well as Windows, and on InDesign CS as well as InDesign CS2 or CS3).

We call these plug-ins Scripted Plug-Ins. In order to run these Scripted Plug-Ins you need a special APID ToolAssistant plugin installed - which is available as a download from this website.

If you're interested in developing your own Scripted Plug-Ins, check out our Active Page Item Developer tool.

Scripted Plug-Ins are put into the same folder as the APID ToolAssistant - typically your InDesign Plug-Ins folder.
